Help Build Lamu's Future Innovators
1 / 6
Lamu is a frontier county full of young people with talent, curiosity and big ideas. But with limited access to computers, internet and digital skills training, many don't get the chance to build those ideas into something real. Lamu Tech Hub is changing that.
After our first Tech Meets Culture event in 2025, schools and students kept asking for more. So we started Lamu Tech Hub Innovation Clubs: weekly, hands-on sessions that run all year in six Lamu schools. Students learn coding, digital skills and app building, and take part in hands-on science experiments and engineering challenges where they design, build and test their own ideas. As an official Technovation chapter, our student teams build digital solutions to problems in their own community.
The clubs need laptops, robotics kits, sensors, internet access, learning materials and trained facilitators. Your donations keep the sessions going for all students.
Our goal: KES 1,000,000 by 31 December 2026 to help keep 120 students in six Lamu schools learning in our Innovation Clubs throughout 2027, with the support and equipment they need.
We track every club through attendance registers, before-and-after skills checks, finished projects, and feedback from teachers and parents. Donors get updates and photos of what students build.

Our Innovation Clubs run every week in schools around Lamu, including:
- Mahmoud bin Fadhil Boys
- Mahmoud bin Fadhil Girls
- Shella Primary
- Ama Primary
- Al Farsy Muslim School
Lamu Tech Hub is a community-based organisation working only in Lamu. Every shilling stays here.
