Tech Meets Culture is our youth innovation and culture event. The main event takes place on 25 November. From 26 to 28 November, learners from Lamu schools show what they have built with technology, alongside science and engineering, at the Lamu Tech Hub exhibition tent during the Lamu Cultural Festival.

It is a chance for the community, visitors and partners to see young people in Lamu using technology to solve local problems, while celebrating the culture and heritage that make Lamu unique.

Four Days Of Innovation And Culture

Student Showcases

Innovation Club and Technovation learners present the apps, games and digital solutions they have built for their community.

Hands-On Demos

Try out tech, robotics and engineering kits with the students who built and run them.

Lamu Culture

Innovation shown side by side with the heritage of the Lamu Cultural Festival, by young people who know Lamu best.

Tech Meets Culture 2025

Inaugural edition2025

The first Tech Meets Culture brought Lamu's young people face to face with coding, digital tools and hands-on STEAM at the Lamu Cultural Festival.

The response was bigger than a single event could meet. Students wanted to keep learning, so we started year-round Innovation Clubs with weekly sessions in six Lamu schools and became an official Technovation chapter.
